Happy Valentines Day you Sexy Beasts!

As it it the day of love I thought I would share my first pattern with you lovely people as we have two common ladies: crochet and yarn.

I started this originally as I ordered the wrong yarn for a project, so I thought, "GLOVES! I've never made a pair of gloves' and then when I couldn't say that any more, I felt like they looked plain and shoved faces on them because everything is better with a face! And bows, because as we all know; bow(tie)s are cool.

Now this pattern is very flexible, so as you are going along, if you do make the modifications for it - to fit your paws - take notes as you'll need to make a second glove the same way as the left/right glove use the same pattern.

What you will need:

1 skein of Worsted/Aran Yarn (A) for gloves
1 skein of Worsted/Aran Yarn (B) for cuff/bow
5mm hook.
Felt

Note: This project doesn't take up a whole lot of yarn, especially B so don't fear if you don't have a huge stash of Worsted/Aran yarn.

Pattern: (make 2)
With A:

ch 25 (or until the chain successfully wraps around your hand without being too loose or tight) then slip stitch to beginning for a hoop.

1: ch2, DC in same stitch (ss) (you will be doing this for every row), 25DC (and slip sticth to ss from when you started the row. (26)
the underlined sections is how every row will start and finish.

2-5: DC across. (26)

Now for the thumb hole!
6: ch 10 and attach to 4th DC from stitch. (if 10 feels too small, make it bigger. If you have bigger hangs you may even want to rejoin on the 5th or 6th stitch, join it where ever feels comfortable)

Each new row will now start after the thumb hole.

7-8: DC across (32)
9: 20DC, DCR, 8DC, DCR,  (30)
10: 20DC, DCR, 6DC, DCR,  (28)
11: 20DC, DCR, 4DC, DCR (26)

With the first DCR, make sure you go through the last stitch on the glove and the first on the tumb. When your glove is flattened there is a faint line around the thumb as a guide so it's easy to tell where to put your stitches in (Incase you make the gloves smaller or bigger)

With B:
12-13: sc across.

If you wish to make your mitts longer add another row or two of either/each colour. I have mine rather short because things on my wrists irritate my skin.

Bows:
ch 8.
sc across (7) for 3 rows.
leave a long tail on the end and wrap this around the middle of your rectangle. Be careful not to put the tail to tight when you start or your bow will pull in at the edge. .

Now for the felt faces! You don't need to do one man and one woman, make two woman or two men or even two cats! go crazy and put some of your own splurge into it.

Attach with glue or sew on (it's up to you. I glue as I was really lazy and I love my glue gun Hank)

Don't forget to weave in those pesky ends and enjoy your new mits!

I would love to see what you guys come up with!

The Introduction You Probably Didn't Want.

Although I have a tumblr, instagram and facebook page to constantly spam all my workings on, I just felt like that was not enough. I kid, if anything I need to chill and stop spamming my faithful, friendly and f'ing awesome followers from all my junk. Which leaves us here.

Although I post some of my random workings on these social media sites they are usually things I whip up out of air because boredom has taken me there. However, one thing I noticed is everything I make looks a little creepy or weird - but in a really cute way, or so I hope. I personally love it, that's what makes me and my items Gommy and that is why I am Gommy Craft.

As always, some of my very supportive tumblr followers gave me encouragement, as they have done before I even branded myself and was still a little lamb in the crafters' universe, and I have been asked a few times where I got my patterns. The thing is - I don't use patterns!

Granted, my recent obsession of making cases for my 3DS XL went a little overboard so I wrote the pattern I had been making up as I went along (so they were all the same size) but honestly, so many patterns are the exact same out there, mine will probably be the same too (give or take a few stitches). So, this is the spot I will be posting my patterns! I have done so on tumblr a few times but through my constant crochet and fandom spam the patterns eventually get lost in the never-ending scroll that is my page.

I don't create new patters every week, sometimes I use the same base pattern I've concocted and modify if ever so slightly. and WALLA! It looks like something entirely new.

I hope people enjoy my blog little slice of crochet-sharing happiness and have a nice day :)
